Waiting on Sunset reflects one of the simple rituals of coastal life—sitting quietly by the water and waiting for the day to close. These weathered chairs face the shore at the edge of the Yacht Basin, my favorite place to watch the boats return to port and to celebrate life on the coast. At American Fish, where the Cape Fear River, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the pass out to the ocean come together, the setting holds both beauty and history.
